In this module we learn about hearing loss, different communication strategies as well as a crash course on Auslan by a Deaf, accredited instructor.

Learning Outcomes

Distinguish between the different types and degrees of hearing loss.
Describe the impact that being deaf or hard of hearing has on people's ability to navigate the gym or exercise environment and your role and responsibilities for supporting them.
Create an inclusive, supportive and empowering experience for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Learn some basic AUSLAN signs as well as guidance on visual communication.
